Palo Santo literally means "Holy Wood" in Spanish. It is a mystical tree found throughout Central and South America. Palo Santo is related to Frankincense, Myrrh, and Copal. It is part of the citrus family and has the sweet scent of pine, mint and lemon.

It is used in the same fashion as Sage and Cedar. It energetically cleanses spaces, keeps them grounded, and honors the ancestors. It raises your vibration in preparation for meditation and allows for deeper connection to Source. It is said that Palo Santo enhances creativity and brings good fortune to those who use it.

The trees are not allowed to be chooped down if they are alive. They can only be chopped when they die. In these trees live ants. They are the trees protection. They fiercely fight off and kill anything that attacks their tree. The resin or sap in the bark is actually the venom of these ants! Thats what you smell in the wood! The trees are also used as a punishment; by tying someone to the tree and leaving them for the ants to bite to death.
